"I Am Really Oh Ji Ho"
"I Am Really Oh Ji Ho" - Special Disguise As A Fat Man in SBS, "Oh Sujung"
After Kim Ah Joong disguised herself in the movie, "200 lb Beauty," Oh Ji Ho is taking on the disguise as a fat man.
SBS “Oh Sujung” is the next drama to be aired after "Bad Couple," starting on the 28th. The male lead character played by Oh Ji Ho had to wear a special disguise to act as an unattractive man.
On June 30th, Oh Ji Ho went to the office of a special effects makeup team, CELL, to do a special effects makeup test for the role of fat and unattractive Mansu in "Oh Sujung." The result of the two-hour long makeover produced a fat man who seemed totally unlike the former Oh Ji Ho.
"Oh Sujung" is a drama about Oh Sujung who chooses to marry a partner solely based on their wealth and background, and when the unattractive Mansu fails his law entrance examination, she dumps him on the day of their wedding.
Mansu gets traumatized by this and sets on a path of revenge to transform himself, and after succeeding in America by eight years of dieting and exercise, he becomes a professional golfer who exceeds Tiger Woods in terms of wealth and looks.
The fat version of Oh Ji Ho will be shown in episodes one, two and three.

Oh Ji Ho - Good News - Bad News
The Good News regards an upcoming romantic drama, presumably comedic in nature, to be broadcast by SBS.
SBS tends to have innovative, and sometimes, rather edgy material. Good. It's a much needed antidote to the cloying excessive sentimentality of so much TV fodder in this small world. At least the edgy ("Memories of Bali" as one example) doesn't give me a terminal case of heartburn and a massive toothache due to sticky-sweet content.
Of course, watching Bali was like sitting in a basketful of poisonous snakes with the lid on; but it wasn't boring, and it did contain more than a rasher of bitter truth.
The new production is slated to begin airing in late July (not absolutely official). The apparent title (but we know what happens to titles in the world of Korean dramas so don't bank on this...) will be "Butcher Oh Soo Jung". In theory, Oh Ji Ho will have top billing, but we also know how that goes…so don't bank on it either...
The feminine lead will be played by Uhm Jung Hwa (200 lb Beauty) portraying a former beauty queen in a juxtaposed plot with Oh Ji Ho as Go Man Soo, her once scorned suitor, whom through great diligence, has managed to become man of the hour in all things bright and beautiful. Evidently Go Man Soo plays golf. Ironic, since golf is not a favored sport of Oh Ji Ho's. I wonder if it was like pulling teeth without Novocain, for him to ape a good golfer.
It sounds like a potentially funny program. Let's hope it is well directed, and decently put together all the way around. Quality is delicious.
From The Tasty to the Obnoxious department:
The Bad News is relatively simple and not too surprising considering the Pit Bull characteristics of the Netcretins at large.
The Korean Branch of Netcretinhood is objecting to Oh Ji Ho’s return to the honorable task of earning his daily bread.
Evidently they are (still) snorting, honking, braying, and pawing the ground in beast-like fashion (anything less than absolutely sleazy vicious behavior on their part would be a let-down by this time) in a great display of pimple-faced, overweight, unloved and unlovely, probably in need of underarm deodorant, teenage-like angst at the idea he will be back on the small screen actually earning money. I'm sure they'd prefer him to become a barefoot begger. They should hold their breath while they wait for that event.
Oh Ji Ho, being a rational individual for the most part, considers meeting his financial obligations a good idea, and follows through by doing his best to pay the bills. Laudable.
And although this is the nasty side of the news, kudos must be delivered to Star Empire Entertainment for coming through.
I suspect the positive fan mail we all sent out had a lot to do with it, and I still have a bad feeling regarding what might have happened if there were no letters from all corners of the globe speaking of affection and support for their client. They did come through in the long run though, and that’s all that matters. The end does indeed justify the means.
And last, but certainly not least, there is a "fan" living somewhere on the same planet as the rest of us, who left this repellent little piece of bigotry at a site recently. I heartily object to this kind of thing. How well this would have fit in with Hitler’s view of racial purity which embraced an unbelievable emphasis on physical appearance as being an earmark of superiority. Not to mention the philosophy of the KKK, that group of monsters who also believes in the supremacy of a narrow band of humanity, but excludes the family hound from the prejudiced eye, even though it may be the wrong color.

“OH JI HO really looks gorgeous & with that fantastic body WOW. I really liked him in Autumn Shower - this was really heavy drama. He was cute and funny in Fantasy Couple. In Super Rookie he sure acts his character very well, - he was a nasty guy!!!! He was a darling in A Sec ond Proposal, I wish he had a kissing scene here hahahah. Now I am waiting for his film My Wife is a Gangster 3, whenever I go & buy it is always out of stock, but I am getting my copy in a week.
OH JI HO does not look Korean at all - he is so handsome unlike the other Korean actors who look skinny & chinky eyed. Also whenever he smiles shucks with those lovable eyes - I’ll go berseck. Cheers & take care. Sarang ye OH JI HO!!!!”

Oh Ji Ho - On the Road Again
Oh Ji Ho is on the road doing promotional work for the excellent MBC production, Couple of Fantasy (or whatever it's called at this moment). It has a very flexible title indeed :)

Thanks to the narrow point of view common to inexperienced youth, coupled with their need to get a vicarious thrill from the difficulties of others, the now dated, overused commentary regarding the speculation of one news reporter, Oh Ji Ho is still grist for the brat mill.
Will the horse crap never cease dropping?
It causes constant ire in this writer to observe this ongoing attack done within the law by a narrow margin, but one wide enough to allow the perpetual harangue not to fall into the harassment category.
The moralistic self righteous tone set by individuals too young to be allowed to stay up late at night, regarding one particular line from an article published in The Korea Times in January 2007, gives me indigestion.
Netcretins busy at work setting the world straight according to their high standards.
On a brighter note:
Meanwhile, in the real world, Oh Ji Ho has resumed pursuit of his career, participating in the making of a single with the group, V.O.S.
Kudos to you sir! We wish you success.
During his recent visit to Hawaii, he was wined and dined at a banquet given in his honor, and cordially received by fans and interested followers of his work, with great warmth and affection.
While in Hawaii, he also put in an appearance at the Hawaiian International Foreign Film Festival, where he enjoyed yet another warm welcome, this time, by his peers in the industry.

Oh Ji Ho left Taiwan joyfully yesterday upon the completion of his promotional tour for the Korean drama series 'Fantasy Couple.' During his 2 night 3 day tour, he had the opportunity to try various Taiwanese delicacies and played baseball on a machine at the night market. Also, following in the footsteps of his character of the drama series, he visited several kindergartens in the Taipei District. Due to his tight schedule, he had to travel back and forth under the hot Taiwan sun, yet instead of grumbling, he was very cheerful throughout his tour. He showed a high level of enthusiasm regardless of whether he was eating, playing, or visiting the children. As one would say, 'He didn't act like a star at all.'
Despite of his height of 6 feet, weighing 173 pounds, he didn't look rough in person at all. Instead, he exuded an aura of nerdiness. Oh Ji Ho stated that he is an introvert. He also admitted that he is actually a nerd. As for his role in 'Fantasy Couple,' as a handyman, he had purposely changed his hair and tanned himself to portray a more manly image. Oh Ji Ho jokingly said that the 2 days of Taiwanese sunshine is driving him insane as he no longer needs a tan. He also said, "Just by walking under the sun for several minutes, everyone would sweat an incredible amount."
Regarding his new image after starring in the romantic comedy 'Fantasy Couple,' Oh Ji Ho claimed that his role in the drama series had helped him to master the skill of being humorous, so much so that not only his audience, but his friends and families are shocked as well. Who would have expected a boring nerd to turn out to be quite a natural when it comes to humor?
Due to his outstanding performance, Oh Ji Ho won the Popularity Award last year. It is rather obvious that his popularity is soaring. Oh Ji Ho, together with the Fantasy Couple's heroine, Han Ye Seul beat the Yoon Eun Hye and Joo Ji Hoon couple from Princess Hours to win the Best Couple Award. Regarding his victory, Oh Ji Ho said, "Now I know how popular an actor from a romantic comedy can be."
